Informed sources reported on Saturday that US forces at the Harir military base east of Erbil province have entered a state of maximum alert.
The sources told Al-Maalouma, “The base is experiencing an unprecedented state of emergency, with all main entrances completely closed, amid intense drone and Apache helicopter flights in the area’s skies, reflecting a high level of security alert.”
She added, “Movement inside the base is almost completely paralyzed, and no military convoy or vehicle has been observed entering since the early morning hours, indicating a state of anticipation and apprehension regarding the possibility of sudden developments on the ground.”
The sources indicated that “this mobilization coincides with the ongoing Israeli aggression against several Iranian cities and facilities, prompting US forces to raise their readiness in anticipation of any potential response from Tehran or its allies in the region.”
Harir base is one of the largest American bases in Iraq after Ain al-Assad base, and houses hundreds of American soldiers in addition to heavy military equipment and machinery.
