In a strange scene that we don’t see every day, Kim Ju-ae, the daughter of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, appeared driving a military tank while her father climbed onto the top of the tank, in a training moment between father and daughter, but in the North Korean leader’s own way.
Photos released by North Korea’s state news agency KCNA showed Kim Ju-ae’s latest appearance at a major military event, as she has increasingly appeared at public events alongside her father in recent months.
In the more recent photos, she is seen looking out of the driver’s hatch with a very focused expression and her hair flying around, while her father appears smiling as he leans against the turret and three uniformed officers sit on the tank’s frame.
Earlier this month, the young girl was seen at a shooting range aiming a rifle, and on another occasion she was filmed firing a rifle.
According to the North Korean news agency, Kim Jong Un oversaw a training exercise on Thursday involving a new type of tank that demonstrated superior offensive and defensive capabilities against drones and anti-tank missiles.
Kim praised the tank, describing it as “extremely superior” and “unrivaled in the world in terms of its striking power and maneuverability,” as well as its self-defense capabilities, adding: “Our army will be equipped with these super-powerful tanks.”
