Türkiye: “Development Path” in Final Stages, Funding Discussed

Türkiye - Development Path in Final Stages Funding DiscussedShafaq News/ Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Oraloğlu, announced on Wednesday that preparations for the “Development Road” project have reached their final stage, as discussions are underway on financing.

The Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak, in a news item translated by Shafaq News Agency, described the project as “huge” to link Iraq and Turkey, and quoted the Turkish minister as saying, “We seek to start (the project) in 2025.”

The Turkish newspaper stated that the “Development Road” is an important trade route linking Iraq and Turkey by railways, roads, ports and cities, as the railways and highways will connect the Grand Faw Port, which seeks to be the largest port in the Middle East, along 1,200 kilometers. The “Development Road” was also described as the “Iraqi Silk Road”, and is being built as an alternative route to the Suez Canal to facilitate trade faster and more efficiently .

Regarding the explosions in Lebanon, the Turkish minister told the newspaper that pagers are almost never used in Turkey, adding, “I can clearly say that there is no danger in Turkey” regarding pagers.

The newspaper quoted Abdulkadir Oraloglu as saying, “We are confronting more than 400 cyber attacks daily,” adding that Turkey is among the top 10 advanced countries in the field of cybersecurity .
