US President Donald Trump announced on Monday night that strong strikes would be launched against Iran today and tomorrow.
Trump said in an interview with an American radio program: I sometimes disagree with Netanyahu and I have told him so, and my relationship with him is “very good”.
Trump added that the memorandum of understanding with Iran was a test “and they did not abide by it,” indicating that military operations could last from 2 to 3 weeks.
Trump continued: “We will destroy the nuclear facilities under Axe Mountain in Iran,” indicating that “Axe Mountain is a likely target for a big and powerful strike.”
Trump noted, “I think the Iranian regime is not completely normal. We overthrew the first regime, then we overthrew the second, and then we eliminated about 25% of this regime, and they are different in their thinking.”
Trump continued, “We had a 100% deal with Iran yesterday, and then suddenly they received a phone call and they all left the room,” explaining that “if the Iranians had a nuclear weapon, they would have used it within one day.”
Trump pointed out that “Iran has no air force, no navy, nothing at all, and all they do is talk nonsense and have fake news,” stressing that “Iran does not have a nuclear weapon and we have eyes that monitor everything through space forces and other means.”
Trump concluded by saying, “We are closely monitoring the Axe Mountain site in Iran and we see no activity there. Their nuclear situation is not good, and every time we hear about something, we destroy it,” noting that “inflation in Iran has jumped from 5% to 301%.”
The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported, citing local sources, on Monday evening that several explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas, while other local sources reported that missile and air strikes targeted areas in Larak, with reports of four powerful explosions in Konarak .
Tasnim reported that air defenses were activated in Bandar Abbas, and there were reports of six explosions being heard in Konarak and Chabahar, according to residents of those areas .
According to Tasnim’s correspondent, with informed sources, the location of these explosions is still unknown, and security forces are investigating the matter. He noted that the situation is currently calm, and no explosions have been heard so far .
Tasnim added that several violating ships were targeted in the Strait of Hormuz, while noting that air defenses in Bandar Abbas managed to shoot down an American Lucas suicide drone .
She explained that some local sources in Chabahar believe that the site of the explosion is linked to Konarak, and that Chabahar residents heard the sound of the Konarak explosion. No official authorities have issued any comment so far regarding these explosions .
Despite the truce previously reached between Washington and Tehran, airstrikes between the two sides resumed in recent days, with US forces targeting Iranian sites, while Tehran responded by targeting what it describes as US interests in the Gulf states and the region.
