US President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that he does not want to talk to Iran, saying, “We are not looking to have a meeting or anything.”
Trump added that “the Strait of Hormuz is open and we control it completely,” stressing that it has been “completely cleared of mines and millions of barrels of oil pass through it daily,” noting that what the United States is doing regarding Iran “does not mean that we have abandoned the military aspect .”
He reiterated his remarks about the poor economic conditions in Iran, saying that Tehran “does not pay its soldiers’ salaries and their capabilities are very limited .”
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf confirmed on Thursday, during his meeting with the Qatari Foreign Minister, that the economic blockade imposed on Iran represents “a new example of American hostility,” warning of the repercussions of the decisions taken by the Trump administration on the future of the region .
