US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that America is considering reducing its military efforts in the Middle East. Trump said, “We are getting very close to achieving our goals and are considering reducing our military efforts in the Middle East,” explaining that “our goals are to weaken Iran’s missile capabilities and launch platforms.” He continued, “Our goals include destroying Iran’s defense industrial base and eliminating its naval and air forces.”
He added, “We are striving to prevent Iran from even approaching nuclear capabilities,” further stating that “our objectives include providing the highest level of protection for our allies in the Middle East.” He added, “Countries that use the Strait of Hormuz should be responsible for its protection and security, as we do not use it,” emphasizing that “assistance in securing the Strait of Hormuz will no longer be necessary once the Iranian threat is eliminated.”
