US President Donald Trump warned on Monday during his speech at the Sharm el-Sheikh peace summit in Gaza that Iraq could face “trouble” if it fails to properly manage its oil wealth.
“Iraq is a country full of oil, and it will be a problem for you if you don’t know how to handle it,” Trump told the delegations of the countries participating in the summit, as Shafaq News Agency monitored.
His remarks came after he thanked the Arab and international countries that contributed to the ceasefire efforts in Gaza, praising what he described as “the new spirit of cooperation in the Middle East.”
During a joint press conference with a number of world leaders, the US President announced that the signing of the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel, which he described as “historic,” represents a “watershed moment in the efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.”
During the signing ceremony, Trump said, “Together, we have achieved what everyone said was impossible: peace in the Middle East,” praising the cooperation of all parties and countries that contributed to the success of the negotiations that led to the agreement between Israel and Hamas.
