US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that there is no agreement with Iran, setting the condition of surrender and the selection of a new leader who is “great and acceptable,” as he described him.
Trump stated at a press conference, “There will be no agreement with Iran except unconditional surrender.” He added, “After Iran’s unconditional surrender, a great and acceptable leader will be chosen.”
Trump added: “We will work with allies and partners to save Iran from the brink of collapse and strengthen its economy, and we will make Iran bigger, better, and stronger economically.”
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian revealed earlier on Friday that countries had begun mediation efforts to stop the American-Israeli war on his country.
Pezeshkian said in press statements that “some countries have begun mediation efforts, and we have responded to them by saying that we are committed to achieving lasting peace in the region,” adding that “mediators should go to those who started the war and belittled the Iranian people,” in reference to America and Iran.
Since February 28, Israel and the United States have been launching attacks on Iran, killing hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and security officials, while Tehran responds by launching missile and drone barrages towards Israel.
Tehran responds by launching attacks on what it describes as “American interests” in Arab countries, resulting in deaths and injuries and damage to civilian facilities, including ports and residential buildings.
