US President Donald Trump predicted on Tuesday that the Iranian economy would “collapse” under the pressure of the blockade on its ports, while also asserting that the conflict with Iran would be resolved without the need for haste, especially since it is being isolated and deprived of sources of revenue.
Trump said in remarks monitored by Shafaq News Agency: “We will not rush into anything concerning Iran. We have a blockade, and we expect the Iranian economy to collapse under the pressure resulting from the blockade of its ports.”
He believed that “this conflict will be resolved without the need for haste, especially since Iran is being isolated, which deprives it of sources of revenue,” estimating that “the American strikes have severely weakened Iran’s military leadership and capabilities.”
The US president confirmed that “the United States is in direct contact with Iranian officials, and we are not in a hurry to reach an agreement,” adding, “We need to move quickly toward an agreement with Iran, but we will not rush.”
Trump added: “I am confident that Iran will give up uranium enrichment and any path that leads to having a nuclear weapon. They will stop enriching uranium to 100%, and we will get (nuclear dust), and it is all just a matter of time as the pressure mounts.”
