US President Donald Trump commented, on Saturday (January 11, 2020), on the withdrawal of his country’s forces from Iraq, stating that the Iraqi government must pay money to American taxpayers.

“The Iraqi government must pay money to American taxpayers if it wants to withdraw American forces from there,” Trump said in an interview with the American “Fox News” station.

He referred to the recent calls from Iraqi officials to start planning for the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq, saying, “This is what the Iraqis are saying publicly, but they are not saying this in private sessions.”

He added, “Iraq has set up one of the most expensive airport facilities in the world. If we leave, they (the Iraqis) will have to pay money for that,” adding that “countries like Saudi Arabia and South Korea pay millions of dollars for the deployment of American soldiers there . ”

“He told the kingdom that they had to pay money to deploy more soldiers, and they had already put a billion dollars into a bank account,” he said .

Noting the way in which money can be raised from the Iraqis, Trump stressed: “We have a lot of their money. There is $ 35 billion in an account.”

On Sunday (January 05, 2020), the House of Representatives voted on the exit of all foreign and American forces from Iraq, the abolition of the role of the international coalition in Iraq, in addition to canceling the security agreement with America by the Iraqi government .
