Shafaq News – Washington US President Donald Trump confirmed on Saturday that a military base in Saudi Arabia was attacked days earlier, noting that the aircraft at the base were not destroyed as some media reports had suggested.
Trump said, in remarks followed by Shafaq News Agency, that “the base that was attacked contains five refueling aircraft,” explaining that “four out of the five aircraft did not suffer any significant damage and have already returned to service.”
He added that “the fifth aircraft sustained only minor damage,” expecting it to “return to flying again soon.”
Trump criticized what he called “misleading headlines” published by some media outlets regarding the targeting of the aircraft, stressing that reports that spoke of the destruction of five refueling aircraft were inaccurate and did not reflect the truth of what happened.
It is worth noting that the Wall Street Journal confirmed yesterday, Friday, that five US Air Force refueling aircraft were bombed and damaged while at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia.
