US President Donald Trump declared on Sunday, March 23, 2025, that April 2 will be “Freedom Day” for America, announcing new tariffs.
Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social: “It would be far better if the Federal Reserve lowered interest rates as the US tariffs began to take effect on the economy. Do the right thing. April 2nd is Emancipation Day in America!!!”
