Shafaq News/ US presidential candidate Donald Trump accused Google on Saturday of only displaying “bad articles” about him, vowing to sue the tech giant if he wins the presidential election.
Trump did not provide any evidence for his accusation in a post on his Truth Social platform, adding that the search engine only displays positive articles about his Democratic rival Kamala Harris.
“This is illegal activity, and we hope the Department of Justice will criminally prosecute them for this blatant election interference,” he said in the post.
“If that does not happen, and according to the laws of our country, I will demand that they be prosecuted at the highest levels when I win the election,” he continued.
Trump’s post came after a conservative organization reported on its findings after conducting a search that included the phrase “Donald Trump 2024 presidential race.”
“The two campaign websites are consistently displayed at the top of search results for specific or general queries,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement, adding that “this report conducted a search on a rare term in one day a few weeks ago, and even for that search, the two candidates’ websites ranked first in Google search results.”
