US President Donald Trump confirmed on Sunday that the ongoing military operations against Iran are proceeding at a faster pace than planned.
Trump said in press statements monitored by Shafaq News Agency that “things are going very well,” indicating that “the level of success is unbelievable,” as he described it.
He added that “48 Iranian commanders were killed in one fell swoop during the recent strikes,” noting that “the developments on the ground are moving very quickly.”
Trump pointed out that “Iran was on the verge of possessing a nuclear weapon within two weeks, had it not been for the strikes that targeted its nuclear facilities,” considering that “those operations prevented the achievement of this goal.”
The United States and Israel launched a war on Iran on Saturday, targeting top Iranian leaders, starting with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his advisor Ali Shamkhani, and military leaders such as the Minister of Defense and the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, through hundreds of missile strikes and suicide drone attacks.
In turn, Iran responded by targeting Israel and American bases in the Gulf states and the Kurdistan region, and then began bombing towers and airports in some Gulf states such as the UAE and Kuwait.
The war between the two sides continues, and today, Sunday, Iran targeted the American aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, while the United States targeted military sites inside Iran.
