Coordination Framework member Uday Abdul Hadi confirmed on Monday that the framework’s forces will hold an important meeting in the coming hours to discuss four issues on the agenda.
Abdul-Hadi told Al-Maalomah, “All indications show that the leaders of the Coordination Framework will hold an expanded meeting today with the attendance of most of the leaders, to discuss four main issues, most notably determining the nature of the names nominated for the position of Prime Minister, and the mechanisms of dialogue with other political forces to form the next government.”
He added that “the meeting will also discuss the security file and its developments, in addition to discussing the economic situation in general, and reviewing the readings and reports available to the government regarding the current challenges.”
Abdul-Hadi indicated that “the names of candidates for prime minister may be presented during the meeting, but a decision may not be reached today, pending clarification of the political forces’ positions and the possibility of reaching a consensus on a specific name.” He explained that “the meeting will constitute the first step towards considering the proposed names for the position of the next prime minister.”
