To put an end to corruption... Parliamentary integrity stresses the necessity of evaluating the work of banksInformation/Baghdad…
The Parliamentary Integrity Committee confirmed today, Thursday, work to evaluate the work of government banks to put an end to financial waste and combat corruption.
Committee member Intisar Al-Maliki told Al-Maalouma, “The role assigned to the Integrity Committee requires it to strengthen oversight work and address any files surrounded by suspicions of corruption or waste of public money.”
She added, “There is a plan to know the structure of banks, the mechanism for granting loans, their interest rates, and what is related to the Qi Card, in addition to inquiring about the anti-corruption mechanisms in their work.”
Al-Maliki pointed out, “There are periodic and ongoing hosting events for government bank managers to ask inquiries and learn about a number of aspects related to financial financing.”
The US Treasury Department recently imposed economic sanctions on eight Iraqi banks, preceded by sanctions on fourteen others, preventing them from dealing in the dollar currency, as the reasons behind imposing such sanctions were not explained.
