Sadiqoun Parliamentary Bloc warned, on Monday, of a new government crawl on the monetary reserves in the Central Bank of Iraq, through the law on financing the election expenses of the House of Representatives.
“The government is creeping into the cash reserves at the Central Bank of Iraq through lending, this time by financing the elections to the House of Representatives,” said the deputy from the Al-Sadiqoun bloc, Abdul Amir Al-Taiban, according to the bloc’s media.
Al-Taibyan added, “The government had to boost the country’s revenues by recovering debts from public money thieves, international banks, border outlets, mobile phone debts and currency auctions, as well as demanding funds frozen in the assets of the United States of America.”
He pointed out, “Parliament’s position to reject the vote on the election financing law.”
Regarding the rights of the Kurdistan region from the budget, Al-Ta`iban said: “Kurdistan sold its first barrel of oil in 2014, and all successive governments are calling on the region to implement agreements,” pointing to “the region’s government’s refusal to cooperate to receive salaries from Baghdad, and that the parties favor the region at the expense of cities.” Center and South since 17 years.
