Today, Monday, an informed political source revealed the most prominent names nominated for the position of prime minister, while confirming that three candidates are circulating their names among the political forces to choose one of them for the position.
The source said in an interview with the “Information” agency, that “the three most prominent names proposed for the position of prime minister are the former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and the Secretary-General of the Euphrates Movement, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, as a moderate political hawk who enjoys a wide area and is acceptable to the forces and parties.”
He added, “The second figure is the former Minister of Communications, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, and the third is one of the independent representatives, and the closest to them may be the representative, Basem Khashan.”
The political source, who preferred not to reveal his name, ruled out “the option of offering the current governor of Basra, Asaad al-Eidani, for the position of prime minister,” noting that “the coordinating framework set many specifications for the personality of the next prime minister, and whoever meets these specifications will be approved by the rest of the political blocs.”
The coordination framework is leading serious negotiations with the rest of the political blocs to proceed with the formation of the government, especially after the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc from the political process.
A member of the Victory Coalition, Aqeel Al-Rudaini, had revealed, today, Monday, the collection of parliamentary signatures for more than 50 deputies to hold an emergency session to vote on the alternative deputies, which will be held during the next few days, while stressing that the coordination framework will form the new government after the withdrawal of the Sadrist bloc.
