“This is the last night of calm”: Iran warns Israel and 7 other countries

Former Iranian negotiator and political adviser Mohammad Marandi warned on Saturday that any attack targeting civilian infrastructure in Iran would be met with a response that would include vital infrastructure in Israel, several Gulf states, and possibly Jordan.
Marandi said in a post on the “X” platform, which was followed by Shafaq News Agency, that “based on the statements of the administration of US President Donald Trump, it seems very likely that this will be the last night of calm in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, and perhaps the Sultanate of Oman.”
He added that carrying out any strikes against Iranian civilian infrastructure would lead to the targeting of the “vital infrastructure” of those countries, along with Israel, and possibly Jordan, calling on their residents to “prepare to evacuate immediately.”
Marandi’s remarks come after warnings issued by the spokesman for the Iranian General Staff, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, who stressed that any attack targeting Iranian infrastructure would be met with attacks on all infrastructure in the region.
Mohammad Mokhbar, an advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader, described Iranian infrastructure as a “red line,” warning against targeting it, in response to threats made by US President Donald Trump.
Trump had threatened to deliver “very harsh blows” to Iran, and in statements he made in mid-July, he said he would postpone targeting energy facilities until the last stages, adding: “If they don’t sit down at the negotiating table, we will shut down all the power plants and bridges.”
Following the Iranian statements, the US State Department on Saturday urged its citizens in the Middle East to exercise caution and be prepared for possible airspace closures and travel disruptions, noting that Iran and its allied groups may target US interests or citizens around the world.
Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18 and entered into negotiations to reach a final agreement, before the talks stalled due to disagreements over guaranteeing the security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on Iran, which Tehran said resulted in the deaths of more than 3,000 people, while Iran announced that it had retaliated with attacks that killed Americans and Israelis.
