The US Central Command announced on Sunday that eight soldiers were killed or wounded during the war with Iran.
The command said in a statement: “Three U.S. service members were killed in action and five others were seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Wrath.”
She added, “A number of others sustained minor injuries from shrapnel and concussions, and are now in the process of returning to duty. Major combat operations continue, and our response efforts are ongoing.”
“The situation is volatile, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen soldiers, until 24 hours have passed since the next of kin were notified.”
The United States and Israel launched a war on Iran on Saturday, targeting top Iranian leaders, starting with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his advisor Ali Shamkhani, and military leaders such as the Minister of Defense and the commander of the Revolutionary Guard, through hundreds of missile strikes and suicide drone attacks.
