The United States set a new record by holding the largest fireworks display in its history, during the 250th anniversary celebrations of independence, with the launch of about 850,000 fireworks, compared to about 20,000 fireworks in last year’s celebrations in Washington.
The display lasted about 40 minutes and lit up the sky over Washington, D.C., as well as other areas, including New York, by launching fireworks from multiple locations.
The celebration was attended by US President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and a number of guests at the National Mall plaza.
It is the largest parade of its kind in the history of the United States, according to figures announced during the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the country.
