The Sudanese movement does not rule out an alliance with Al-Sadr and indicates fears among someShafaq News/ Al-Furatin Movement, led by the current Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, suggested today, Saturday, the possibility of an alliance with the Sadrist movement led by Muqtada al-Sadr, who retired from political life about 10 months ago.

Hadi Al-Yasiri, a member of the political bureau of the movement, told Shafaq News Agency, “The Sudanese government called itself the government of services and achievements, and we began to see that clearly today,” explaining that “the increase in the chances of Al-Furatin and Al-Sudani in the elections is based on the acceptability of the Iraqi street.”

Al-Yasiri pointed to “fears that some political parties may have, which is a natural matter that falls within the field of electoral competition.”

Regarding the intention to ally with the Sadrist movement after the upcoming elections, a member of the political bureau of the Al-Furatin Movement confirmed that “it is still too early to talk about this field,” adding at the same time by saying that “everything is included in politics and they are electoral entitlements.”

Al-Yasiri stressed, “The Al-Furatin Movement is open to all national political trends, and will work in the next stage to form a comprehensive national umbrella.”

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, decided to boycott the local elections that were held at the end of December last year, which led to the Shiite coordinating framework forces seizing control of their results in the central and southern governorates.

It is the second important decision taken by Al-Sadr after his decision in June 2022 to withdraw from Parliament after his list came first and he announced his withdrawal from the political process and not to participate in any future elections, so as not to participate with “corrupt politicians,” as he described it.

In a surprising step, the Sadrist movement is preparing, once again, to return “strongly” to the political scene, and to run in the general elections in Iraq to gain a majority, according to what a prominent leader in the movement revealed earlier to Shafaq News Agency.

The leader confirmed that the Sadrist movement is currently preparing for the elections, which it is hoped will take place in the middle of next year, and explained that his movement will work again to form a majority government and will not give up on this project.
