The Sudanese are evasive... and the citizen is paying the price for the failuresAl-Maalomah/Report:
Amid ongoing service crises and the accumulation of unresolved sovereign issues, the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is facing mounting parliamentary criticism, amid accusations of inaction and confusion in managing issues that touch on the core of sovereignty and national interest.
The government’s failure to address the water and electricity crises, and its laxity in confronting Turkish incursions and unequal trade exchange, reflects a lack of political vision and confusion in executive decision-making, leading to a significant decline in its popularity, according to international polls.
In this context, MP Yasser al-Husseini accused the government of “inaction and neglect in following up on pending issues with Turkey, which has weakened Iraq’s position on strategic issues that touch on sovereignty and national interests,” according to a statement to Al-Maalomah.

Al-Husseini added that “the government has not shown the necessary seriousness in dealing with a number of sensitive issues with the Turkish side, most notably the water issue, the Turkish military incursion into Iraqi territory, as well as the unequal trade exchange that does not serve the national economy.”
He pointed out that “Iraq possesses important pressure cards that can be used to confront Turkish policies, but the lack of a political vision and the weakness of government action at the regional and international levels have given Ankara the opportunity to continue its approach without any serious response from Baghdad.” He pointed out that “previous agreements between Iraq and Turkey have not yet been activated, despite their ability to contribute to resolving some of these issues.”
For his part, MP Thaer Makhif confirmed, in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, that “the current government has failed to manage a number of important service issues, which has negatively impacted its popularity and led to a decline in its chances in the upcoming elections.”

He explained that “the government’s performance has not risen to the current challenges, especially in vital issues that directly affect citizens’ lives, such as the water and electricity crises,” noting that “this failure has caused significant harm to citizens and contributed to the exacerbation of their daily suffering, which has strengthened the state of popular discontent with government performance.”
He added that “the government’s weak performance in these issues has become unacceptable and has directly contributed to the decline in popular acceptance of the government, which negatively affects its chances in the upcoming elections.”
In light of this declining performance, the government appears unable to regain the public’s confidence, while its prime minister faces an escalating political challenge that may reshape the upcoming electoral landscape.
