The Speaker of Parliament pre-emits “strategic negotiations” and meets the US ambassador

Baghdad Today, Thursday, the Information Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, welcomed the US ambassador to Baghdad, Matthew Tooler.
A statement of the office, seen by the agency, stated that Halbousi received Toler and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The statement added that the meeting also dealt with “ways to support the new Iraqi government in the security, economic, cultural and scientific fields in accordance with mutual interests.”
The statement quoted Toler as confirming his country’s readiness to provide support to Iraq in all fields.
The meeting comes ahead of the preparations of the two countries. A meeting is expected in the current June, for strategic negotiations between Baghdad and Washington, in preparation for a new era of relations.
