Al-Fatah Alliance leader Ali Al-Fatlawi confirmed to Al-Maalouma that “the information leaked about the meeting between Khamis Al-Khanjar and Al-Julani is still unconfirmed, but if those leaks are true, then the government has nothing to do with the visit because the government’s position is clear and announced to everyone.”
He added, “It is known that there is a convergence of visions between the new Syrian regime and some political figures in Iraq, including Khamis al-Khanjar, and both receive external support and share interests and visions, especially their position on the axis of resistance and the Popular Mobilization Forces, as they are the main obstacle facing them.” He stressed that “achieving their visions in this regard is a fantasy, because Iraq and the Iraqi leadership in 2024 are not as they were in 2014. Also, the fortified force that the Iraqi state is fortified with from security forces and the Popular Mobilization Forces and the development of its armament capabilities will stand strongly against any conspiracy that may occur.”
As for the announced visit made by the Speaker of Parliament to the United States of America at this time that the region is going through, it raises a thousand question marks.
Political circles and observers of regional affairs warned against this visit, and some described it as “suspicious,” especially since it included American states with a Jewish majority.
For his part, political observer Sabah Al-Akeili described Mohammed Al-Halbousi’s visit to the United States of America as “suspicious”, especially at this time, and there are many question marks on it, and he must be questioned, indicating that Al-Halbousi seeks to have a presence in the political process after Parliament ousted him.
Al-Akeili said in a statement to Al-Maalouma Agency, “Al-Halbousi’s visit to Washington in these circumstances that the region is going through has many suspicions, indicating that “some leaks indicate that Al-Halbousi went under the title of the leader of the Sunni house and may propose a deal with the American side to create a Sunni region in exchange for normalization with the Zionist entity if that happens.”
He added that “it is not unlikely that the establishment of camps for Palestinians in the western regions will be discussed after the Palestinians are displaced from Gaza and the West Bank after their lands are confiscated and the Palestinian presence in Gaza is liquidated,” noting that “during this visit, Halbousi presented himself as a political tool for external parties and is seeking to have a presence in the political process in the future with American support, after the Iraqi parliament excluded him and he must be held accountable.”
Meanwhile, political analyst Qasim Balshan warned of Halbousi’s recent moves and his visit to Jewish areas in America, noting that the Middle East plan has begun to be implemented and will include Iraq as well.
Balshan told Al-Maalouma, “Al-Halbousi’s recent visit to America came at the invitation of American officials, during which he visited several states, especially areas with a high Jewish population density. This indicates the beginning of the plan that was announced years ago that there is a new Middle East by designating a region in Iraq to contain the Palestinians of Gaza.”
He added, “Al-Halbousi will return to the political arena after the upcoming elections, and thus Iraq may witness the birth of a new region formed by Anbar, Nineveh and Salahuddin.”
He pointed out that “there is work and movement by American officials inside Iraq and there are intensive visits by various Western political figures, which confirms that the region is heading towards a new Middle East map and Halbousi is one of the parties who will have a role in this map in the next stage.”
