Representative from the Ishraqa Kanon bloc, Hadi Al-Salami, confirmed on Monday that it is very difficult for the House of Representatives to pass the 2024 budget schedules in its session today, noting the presence of irregularities, ambiguity, and misdistribution of allocations between the region and the central and southern governorates.
Al-Salami told Al-Maalouma, “The vote on the current year’s budget schedules will not pass easily during today’s session, as it will face many interventions and criticism of the Finance Committee, which violated the parliamentary frameworks by secluding itself in a place outside the dome of Parliament to review the schedules sent by the government, and this represents “This is a precedent that has not been followed by any international parliament, which has generated many doubts in me.”
He added, “The members of the House of Representatives have not yet been provided with explanations of the schedules by the Finance Committee, except that we obtained some leaks through some colleagues in the Finance Committee, and this is also a legal violation.”
Al-Salami explained that “the representatives of the Ishraqa Kanon bloc and a large number of representatives have objections and interventions regarding the misdistribution of financial allocations and the preference for the region at the expense of the central and southern governorates.”
It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives will hold a voting session this afternoon on the amended schedules of Federal Budget Law No. (13) and its annexes, Schedules (A, B, C, E, F).
