Expected economic expert on behalf of Jamil Antoine, Iraq to be “the primary beneficiary of the low exchange rate of the Turkish lira against the U.S. dollar.”
Antoine said that “the decline in the Turkish lira against the U.S. dollar will reflect positively to the Iraqi side, since all of Iraq’s imports from Turkey, the dollar, which makes imports of Iraqi rising dramatically.”
He added that “more than 50% of the proceeds of Turkey’s financial and economic comes from exporting goods to Iraq,” stressing that “the Turkish economic ties with Iraq, strong ties to the proximity geographically from Iraq.”
And recorded the Turkish lira down to a new record high above the level of 2.2 pounds to the dollar last Thursday after the rise in the U.S. currency to aggravate the negative impact on the Turkish economy.
The pound fell to 2.2045 pounds to the dollar by up to 2.2028 pounds.
