Today, Monday, the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, held a meeting with a delegation from the US Treasury regarding the recent sanctions issued against Iraqi figures and companies.
The Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement, “The head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faiq Zaidan, received today the US Treasury Undersecretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian Nelson, in the presence of the Chargé d’Affaires of the US Mission in Iraq, David Berger, the Judicial Attaché at the US Embassy, Ellen Andrizzi, and his accompanying delegation.” .
The media center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated, “The two parties discussed the legal procedures and sanctions issued by the US Treasury Department (OFAC) regarding Iraqi people and companies.”
