The President of the Republic: Iraq wants to establish good relations with America

Shafaq News/ The President of the Iraqi Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, expressed his country’s desire to establish “good” relations with America, and not to be limited to military affairs only, but to include other areas.
Rashid said in an interview with the English “Sky News” channel, “Iraq wants to establish good relations with the United States, not only in military matters, but also in economic, commercial, political, diplomatic, scientific and cultural aspects.”
He added, “The Iraqi government is working on understandings regarding the presence of international coalition forces in the country, and setting a timetable for their stay, missions, and date of departure.”
Rashid continued by saying, “The security stability that Iraq enjoys now is important, and the situation today is better than it was in past years,” stressing that “the Presidency of the Republic, the government, and the House of Representatives are working greatly to consolidate this stability.”
