The Movement for the Road demanded, on Thursday, the prosecution of the caretaker prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and bringing them to justice on charges of high treason.
Hussain Ali Al-Karaawi, a member of the Coordination Committee, said in an interview with the Information Agency, that “the government committed humanitarian, economic and security crimes, most of which amount to high treason or breach of trust against the homeland.”
He added, “It is not only to blame the government for the ongoing negligence, but to hold the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces accountable as the first official and bring him to justice on charges of high treason, perjury, collusion, conspiracy and failure to perform his duty.”
He pointed out that “the caretaker government betrayed the Iraqi people, so it deserves the accusation of high treason, which requires his trial.”
Earlier in the day, politician Aqil Al-Khattabi held the caretaker government, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, responsible for the recent events in the capital, Baghdad, and Basra province. End / 25 h
