Friday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee welcomed Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani’s request to end the United Nations UNAMI mission in Iraq, noting that the existence of this mission is based on the decisions of Chapter Seven of the United Nations Charter.
Committee member Raed Al-Maliki said in his blog post on the “X” platform: “We welcome the Prime Minister’s request to end the UNAMI mission in Iraq.”
He pointed out that “the existence of this mission is based on the resolutions of Chapter Seven of the United Nations Charter,” indicating that it is “a form of restricting sovereignty at the international level.”
