The Parliamentary Finance Committee decided, on Sunday, to host the Ministers of Planning and Finance and the Governor of the Central Bank to resolve the crisis of delayed pensioner salaries.
A statement by the committee received by Al-Maalouma Agency stated that “the Parliamentary Finance Committee decided to host the Ministers of Planning and Finance, the Governor of the Central Bank and relevant departments, to follow up on the pension file and develop the necessary solutions to ensure the regular disbursement of salaries.”
It added that “while hosting the Chairman of the National Retirement Authority and the Chairman of the Retirement Fund, the committee emphasized the importance of retirees and their significant role in serving the country, inquiring about the reasons for the delay in disbursing their salaries and the approved payment mechanism, in addition to the reasons for canceling the Retirement Fund system and not notifying the Finance Committee of the measures taken by the Authority, as it is the highest legislative body responsible for following up on the Ministry of Finance and the Authority.”
He continued, “The Chairman of the Retirement Authority presented a review of the salary calculation mechanism, disbursement procedures and the existing coordination with relevant departments.”
He pointed out that “the meeting discussed the work of electronic payment companies, salary delivery mechanisms and timelines for that.”
