The Parliamentary Finance Committee accused the government on Monday of delaying the submission of the 2025 budget tables to Parliament, considering this action a clear legal and constitutional violation.
Committee member Mustafa Khalil told Al-Maalouma Agency, “The government violated Article 77/Second by not submitting the budget tables to Parliament.”
Khalil added that “the delay in submitting the tables led to the disruption of the investment and operational budget and affected employee entitlements,” noting that “the lawsuit filed against the government before the Public Prosecution for violating the aforementioned article is ongoing. ”
Khalil called on the House of Representatives to “host the government and hold it accountable for its failure to submit the budget tables on time.”
