The Next Mission... Trumps Messages Reach the Mail of Political Forces in IraqShafaq News/ An informed political source revealed, on Wednesday, the details of the visit of the US President-elect Donald Trump’s envoy to the capital, Baghdad, and the reasons and timing of this visit, coinciding with the Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s trip to London, and the Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein’s trip to New York.

The source told Shafaq News Agency, “(Trump’s envoy), Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Victoria Taylor, informed some of the active political forces in the political scene about Trump’s message, which was supposed to be delivered to Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani.”

The source added, “The new administration realized the decisive position of Al-Sudani’s government, in giving priority to the interest of Iraq over partisan or personal interest, which prompted a change in the course of the message that Taylor carried, and conveyed it to the active political forces in the country, based on its content.”

He continued: “Hence, the American envoy’s meetings with some political and security leaders came to know their positions regarding this message and their support for the government’s direction in a way that achieves the interests of Iraq and the stability of the region and is in harmony with the content of the message.”

The source pointed out that “everyone now supports the government’s move to ensure the independence of the Iraqi political decision and to control security with purely governmental determinants.”

The source pointed out that “the change in the message’s course was intentional, in agreement with Al-Sudani, to embarrass the political parties that reject the independence of the political decision and getting out from under the cloak of Iran and its controlling arms.”

An informed political source revealed last Saturday that the US President-elect Donald Trump’s envoy will visit Iraq, carrying a message to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.

The source explained that “the envoy will also discuss the details of Al-Sudani’s recent visits to Tehran, and Trump’s vision according to the recent changes in the region.”

An informed political source reported, at the beginning of this year, that the Iraqi Prime Minister received a message from US President-elect Donald Trump, via a special envoy on an unannounced visit, which included several axes.

According to the source, the most prominent axes are the necessity of containing and controlling weapons outside the framework of the state, stopping the activity of factions linked to Iran, in addition to Iraq not interfering in the Syrian file and supporting the formation of the new Syrian government.

Meanwhile, a government source told Shafaq News Agency that Iraq is working diligently to establish security in the region, and that the Prime Minister presented Iraq’s vision in this regard during a visit to Iran.

Al-Sudani had made several visits to countries in the region after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime, including Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and recently Iran, where he discussed security issues with the leaders of these countries. Iraq also participated in the Aqaba Conference held in Jordan, with the participation of several countries, including the United States.
