Shafaq News/ The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan announced on Wednesday that its official candidate for the presidency of the Iraqi Republic is Barham Salih.
In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, Soran Jamal Taher said, “We make it clear to everyone that the official candidate of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan for the post of President of the Republic is Barham Salih.”
He added, “We want to serve everyone and be the protector of the constitution and national rights through the position of the President of the Republic.”
This confirmation comes after the media and social networking sites circulated news that the National Union approved the nomination of Abdul Latif Rashid for the post of President of the Republic and withdrew the nomination of Barham Salih.
