Today, Saturday, the State of Law coalition ruled out holding Parliament elections during the current year, and while confirming that the budget law will keep the government until 2025, it considers the current budget as “consumerism.”
The leader of the coalition, Jassim Muhammad Jaafar, said in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “the current government will remain until the completion of its government cycle and continue to rule until 2025.”
He added, “The continuation of the current government was evident through the financial budget law for the next three years,” stressing that “there will be no early parliamentary elections this year.”
The leader of Maliki’s coalition said, “The provincial elections are ongoing and will be completed, whether in October of this year or next year.”
As for the figures for the tripartite budget, Jaafar explained, “The current budget, with a deficit of more than 60 trillion dinars, represents difficulty for the government,” pointing out that “the budget for the current year is more consumption than it is realistic, especially with the absence of the private sector and the movement of the market and construction in the country.” “.
Earlier, a member of the House of Representatives, Mudar Al-Karawi, confirmed the percentage of deficit in the 2023 budget that is of “concern”, stressing “the necessity of working to seek to reduce it and work to develop other financial resources that contribute to facing any sudden drop in oil selling prices, which currently constitutes a percentage It could reach 90% of the country’s annual revenue.”
And the Council of Ministers approved the 2023 budget in its session last Tuesday, with a value of about 200 trillion dinars, which is the highest in the country’s history ever.
