(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) considered, on Tuesday, the approval of the 2020 budget by the Council of Ministers as a “fruit of the discussions between Baghdad and Erbil.”
Party member Subhi Al-Mandalawi said {to the Euphrates News} that “the 2020 budget was the fruit of the ongoing discussions between Baghdad and Erbil, where the Kurds participated in approving the budget by the Council of Ministers, and the region also participated in approving the 2021 budget.”
He pointed out, “It is a temporary budget and is limited to the remaining months of this year.”
He stated that “the meetings that took place in Baghdad and the visit of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to Erbil were positive for Iraq and the Iraqis from its north to the south.”
Al-Mandalawi added, “What we have reached at this stage is what the region and Baghdad need, considering there are economic and health crises, and the agreements that have taken place are within the budget, energy and border crossings, and we have reached many common points and a solution to what we need in the current stage.”
Yesterday, Monday, the Cabinet approved the draft federal budget bill for the year 2020.
The spokesman for the Prime Minister, Ahmed Mulla Talal, said in a tweet to him on Twitter, “In order to organize the spending process and secure the necessary expenditures for the remaining three months of the fiscal year, and in compliance with the decision of the Council of Representatives, the Cabinet approved the draft Federal Budget Law 2020, and sent it to Parliament”.
