State of Law bloc MP Hussein al-Battat revealed on Wednesday that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law had been withdrawn from the Iraqi parliament.
Al-Battat told Shafaq News Agency, “The government withdrew the law restructuring the Popular Mobilization Forces from the House of Representatives without knowing the reasons,” considering that “there is pressure being exerted by countries on the government to suspend the law.”
Al-Battat called on the House of Representatives to “pressure the government to resubmit the law for a vote before the end of the parliamentary session,” urging them to “avoid internal and external pressures and vote on the Popular Mobilization Forces law.”
