The Iraqi Contractors Union is preparing to organize a “massive demonstration” in front of the Tax Authority due to what it described as “confusion” in its administration.
The Union stated in a statement received by “Al-Ma’louma” that “The President of the Iraqi Contractors Union, Ali Al-Sanafi, directed to hold an urgent meeting to discuss the confusion occurring by the new administration of the Authority through issuing ill-considered decisions that violate the instructions pertaining to the contracting sector.”
He added that Al-Sanafi “directed the organization of mass demonstrations in front of the General Tax Authority, due to work confusion and mismanagement by the new administration, which creates huge economic losses for the country, and this is contrary to the government’s direction to wither the bureaucracy and the routine followed by those departments.”
He considered that “the complexity of performance by the General Tax Authority contradicts the directives of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani aimed at supporting the private sector and facilitating work requirements.”
