Currency prices continued to rise in Iran, with the price of the US dollar exceeding 122,000 tomans, according to currency and gold price tracking websites on Sunday.
The dollar was trading this morning at 122,150 tomans, while the British pound was trading at more than 162,000 tomans, and the euro was trading at more than 141,900 tomans.
The dollar exchange rate in the Iranian free market recorded a new collapse of the local currency last Wednesday after breaking the 120,000 toman barrier, continuing the accelerated decline of the toman in recent days.
Iran’s financial and currency markets have witnessed a successive upward trend in recent weeks, setting record highs and paving the way for a new path of rising prices.
This decline comes amid high inflation and rising foreign exchange rates, which has increased concerns about the worsening economic situation in Iran, especially after the return of UN sanctions and statements by Iranian officials regarding the continuation of the nuclear program.
