The International Development Bank, one of the largest private banks and a pioneer in banking services and solutions in Iraq, announced on Wednesday the launch of the first smart branch of its kind.

According to a statement from the bank received by Shafaq News Agency, the new branch “enables the completion of banking transactions completely without the need for employees, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a move that reflects the bank’s commitment to digital transformation and promoting innovation in the Iraqi banking sector.”

The bank stated that “the new branch is located within the International Development Bank’s general administration building on Abu Nuwas Street in Baghdad, making it accessible to all customers as the country’s first fully integrated digital banking experience.”

He pointed out that “the smart branch provides its customers with a unique way to complete their banking transactions within minutes, whether for individuals, companies, businessmen, investors, entrepreneurs, or content creators, through an integrated suite of digital services, including opening bank accounts and deposits, and withdrawing and depositing funds.”

“Services also include depositing bank checks, requesting the issuance of checkbooks, requesting the issuance of bank cards, transferring funds between accounts, purchasing gold ounces, printing account statements, settling loans, receiving content creators’ profits, and other innovative services,” according to the statement.

“The branch also allows customers to speak directly with customer service representatives via audio and video, ensuring a more interactive and flexible banking experience and addressing customer needs immediately,” the statement said.

Wissam Al-Amri, Director of Marketing at the International Development Bank, stated, “The launch of the smart branch reflects our commitment to placing our customers at the heart of our priorities by providing innovative and easy-to-use banking solutions that enable them to manage their financial needs efficiently and at any time.
