The international coalition is seeking clarification on the legal nature of the latest parliament decision

[Follow-up] Where
the international coalition announced, on Thursday, that it needs more clarification regarding the legal nature of the recent decision of the Iraqi parliament regarding the exit of foreign forces from the country.
The coalition said, in a statement on “Twitter” today, that “the international coalition against ISIS has now suspended military activities in Iraq to focus on protecting Iraqi bases hosting the coalition members,” noting that the activities that have been suspended include training with partners and supporting their operations against ISIS.
The statement added that the coalition is focusing its efforts in five areas, and despite the suspension of military activities at the present time, the activities continue naturally, including combating harmful ISIS propaganda, achieving stability and disrupting funding.
He pointed out that “the coalition is awaiting further clarification regarding the legal nature and impact of the decision on foreign forces that are no longer allowed to stay in Iraq, which was approved by the Iraqi parliament on Sunday, the fifth of January.”
“We believe it is in the common interests of all coalition partners, including Iraq, to continue fighting against ISIS,” the coalition concluded.
