The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) revealed on Thursday the possibility of undeclared nuclear materials and activities in Iran, stressing the need for Tehran to implement the safeguards agreement related to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Reuters quoted two reports on Iran that the agency sent to member states, in which it expressed concern about its inability to verify previously declared stockpiles of enriched uranium about a year ago.
She stressed the importance of the agency carrying out verification activities in Iran without delay.
The agency said it had not received any information from Iran regarding the status of its declared nuclear materials or facilities, noting that it had not been able to access any of those Iranian facilities to conduct on-site verification activities with the exception of Bushehr.
The agency estimated, according to the two reports, that Iran’s stockpiles of enriched uranium as of June 13, 2025, were unchanged from previous reports.
