The House of Representatives ends the first reading of 5 billsToday, Saturday, the House of Representatives completed the first reading of 5 bills during its fifteenth session of the fifth electoral cycle – the first legislative year – the second legislative term.

The media department of the House of Representatives said in a statement that “the House of Representatives finished the first reading of the draft law ratifying the agreement on economic and technical cooperation between the government of Iraq and the government of Hungary.”

The statement added, “The House of Representatives completed the first reading of the two draft law on the accession of the Republic of Iraq to the Nuclear Safety Agreement and the joint agreement on the safety of spent fuel disposal and the safety of radioactive waste disposal.”

Parliament also completed the first reading of a draft law ratifying the investment promotion and protection agreement between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to the statement.

The statement pointed out that “Parliament has completed the first reading of the draft law ratifying the agreement to avoid double taxation and prevent financial evasion with regard to taxes on income and capital between the government of the Republic of Iraq and the government of the State of Kuwait.”

Likewise, the House of Representatives completed the first reading of the draft law on freedom of expression, assembly and peaceful demonstration, according to the statement.
