The Federal Court is considering conducting a limited manual count to overcome the election results crisisShafaq News / An informed source said, on Wednesday, that the Federal Supreme Court may issue a decision to re-count the manual counting of all electoral stations across the country, in a specific percentage.

The source told Shafaq News Agency, “The Federal Court has two options that have no third option to overcome the election results crisis, including the partial counting of stations in some governorates, and the second is a comprehensive re-count of all electoral centers with a specific percentage.”

He explained that “according to the information received from there (the Federal Court), it is in the process of issuing a decision to re-count the manual counting of all polling stations in the Baghdad governorate, in addition to another governorate specified or named by the court, since most of the violations that accompanied the electoral process were recorded in the electoral centers of Baghdad governorate. Or re-counting and manual counting of all electoral stations across the country, at a rate of 20%.

The source added, “The court is obligated to issue decisions that end the controversy over the election results, and the decision to postpone means that it is heading towards one of the aforementioned decisions.”

The Federal Supreme Court, in its session held last Thursday, announced the postponement of the decision on the election results until the completion of the examination of all the appeals submitted to the court.

It is noteworthy that the Al-Fateh Alliance, led by Hadi Al-Amiri, had submitted appeals attached to some documents challenging the integrity of the elections to the Federal Court for consideration, followed by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, who submitted a number of appeals documented with evidence, according to his claim.
