The Federal Court is considering a lawsuit to invalidate the assignment of the Sudanese early next yearShafaq News/ The Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority in Iraq) set, on Wednesday, early next year, a date to consider a lawsuit filed by lawyers related to revoking the mandate of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, to form the current federal government.

The lawyers, namely: Ahmed Raed Hayawi, Hazem Mazen Karim, and Ali Shamran Idan, submitted the lawsuit, which was not clear whether political parties were behind it or not.

The lawsuit is directed against: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad Rikan al-Halbousi, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shayaa Sabbar al-Sudani, in addition to their posts.

The Federal Court has set January 11, 2023, as the date for hearing the case.

It is noteworthy that the House of Representatives had voted at the end of last October on the Sudanese cabinet after a difficult labor due to political differences that lasted for a whole year following the early elections that were held in the country in the year 2021.
