A responsible source reveals the restructuring of the Anbar Integrity Office and the change of its staff days after the arrest of the director and his release on bail after his involvement in corruption files.
The source said in a statement to Al-Maalouma, “The Federal Integrity Commission, in coordination with the relevant authorities, has initiated procedures to restructure and change the staff of the Anbar Integrity Office, against the background of the arrest of its director, Ali Al-Dulaimi, on charges related to corruption cases.”
He added, “The concerned authorities assigned the office’s mission to specialists from Baghdad, in a step to activate the role of the office and pursue those involved in corruption, financial extortion and forgery without returning to Baghdad.”
He pointed out that “the Anbar Integrity Office is politicized by the Taqaddam Party, which is led by Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, which called on the concerned authorities in Baghdad to change it to ensure its independence and activate its role in exposing corruption files.”
He explained, “The Integrity Committee in Baghdad was surprised that the Anbar Integrity Office did not take any legal action against those involved in corruption until they were exposed from outside the province, an indication that the office’s role is formal and unable to carry out its work tasks under the control of a party that has progressed over the administration of the province’s affairs.”
It is noteworthy that an official source in Anbar province confirmed, earlier, the release of the director of the Anbar Integrity Office, Ali al-Dulaimi, on bail, provided that he be returned to the concerned authorities when the investigations are completed.
While the leader of the Unified Anbar Alliance, Muhammad Dahham al-Fahdawi, confirms that the attempts of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi to suppress and hide the thefts of the province’s retirement director “have failed.”
Al-Fahdawi said, in an interview with Al-Maalouma, that “what was revealed by the head of the Integrity Commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, Monday, regarding the amounts that were recovered, amounting to five million dollars and two cars as part of a large deal that embarrassed Al-Halbousi and his aides in his party.”
Sheikh Raed al-Dulaimi, one of the sheikhs and notables of Anbar province, said that the director of retirement of Anbar, who is currently detained by the Integrity Committee, wants to hand over $10 million that was illegally acquired during his tenure.
Al-Dulaimi said in a statement to Al-Maalouma agency, “The family of Anbar retirement director Anas Al-Alwani, who is currently detained in Baghdad prisons for their involvement in financial and administrative corruption files, is about to hand over $10 million to the Federal Integrity Committee after he confessed to stealing financial funds estimated at $40 million during his tenure.” position.”
He added, “The sums of money recovered from Alwani are few and do not match the huge funds that were stolen and acquired illegally.”
He pointed out that “Al-Alwani confessed to new corruption files that will overthrow prominent officials who were cooperating with him in acquiring large amounts of money, whose names were not revealed due to Al-Halbousi’s pressure on influential parties in the central government, as they are among the most prominent leaders of the ruling Progress Party.”
