Al-Husseini said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “We began the work of the committee a few days ago and it will continue until the end of the week. We in Basra Governorate have begun the work of the committee, whose work is being tried to obstruct by those who cover up port corruption over the past period.”

A member of the Integrity Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Ali Turki, had previously stated that the mission of the committee formed regarding corruption files in the ports had failed in its mission.
