The Central Bank warns Iraqis against opening accounts at the request of external parties

Shafaq News/ The Central Bank of Iraq warned, on Monday, of fraud cases that many citizens complain about, organized by unknown parties claiming to send aid from humanitarian organizations outside Iraq.
According to a warning statement issued by the bank, and received by Shafaq News agency, those authorities ask those they contact to open an account in the Central Bank of Iraq or an Iraqi bank, or through a wallet account via mobile phone, with the payment of a sum of money under the name (transfer fees). For this aid, and then they are informed that the procedures require time from the Central Bank of Iraq, or that the transfer is withheld.
The statement added, “We urge citizens not to deal with such practices that expose them to fraud and large sums of money.”
