The Central Bank of Iraq announced on Tuesday that it purchased more than $16.5 billion from the federal Ministry of Finance in the first quarter of 2025.
The bank stated in official statistics reviewed by Shafaq News Agency that “the Central Bank purchased $16.593 billion in foreign currency from the Ministry of Finance during the first quarter of this year, while the bank sold $20.980 billion in the same period through its auction.”
He pointed out that “the bank had purchased $68.654 billion of foreign currency from the Ministry of Finance during the past year, and sold $77.652 billion through its daily auction.”
